[Journey] 17 year old - Going to $2,000 a Month
Some background info on me, I originally got into IM when I was maybe 13 years old and wanted to purchase some online currency for video games. (On second thought, screw Nexon and Combat Arms if you know what they are). I started getting into though PPC and Survery websites where I essentially filled out endless CPA offers for the guys that run the site. I made a few cents the first day, and I was HOOKED. After maybe 3-4 months of filling out offers every day, mind you it had to be hidden from
my parents as they would have never allowed their kid to make money online, I reached my goal. I finally got to cash out a $15 gift card. At that point, I knew where my true passion lied in life... the chase of cash windfalls online. Something about the chase of money makes this all worth it. In some ways I actually love going after my goals slightly more than I enjoy reaching them, maybe I'm just weird.
More recently when I got to BHW, I had no clue what to do. All I can say is that the
advice 'read everything, then read it again' is fantastic advice. The only thing that really matters here is your knowledge and experience... nothing more.
When you start out you have no experience so you need to fill that gap with as much knowledge as possible, and then hopefully you can start to gain experience over time. So I jumped into selling SEO content for MNS and basically whoever wanted my articles.
They were ok quality.. better than any foreign stuff, but I didn't really know on-site SEO at the time. The difference between me and the regular person who doesn't know SEO? I blackhatted it up and played a great salesman on Fiverr, and essentially got people to believe that I knew what I was talking about.
So Fiverr was going well and I started building up reoccurring customers, remember before this point I thought $15 was huge, and made maybe $100 in Gigs, all 100% positive rating. My first problem came when I realized that the actual amount of money that entered into my paypal account for a gig was $3.82 instead of the $5 that I expected. That meant I was doing dirt cheap 500 word articles that were better than most on Fiverr. So I moved to my own domain and website and started building up my own list of clients. I wrote for a few high-end websites including an online magazine, web-traffic blog, and a few technology review sites. Basically things were going well.
Then I hit my second wall - once again I realized I wasn't making enough. I didn't want to go into full time article writing and I really didn't want to build a business out of it either (meaning getting writers and clients and just managing them). So I decided that ONCE AGAIN I had to scale up my work. I started looking for the next step, one thing that I did do which was intelligent was keeping my long-term clients. I kept a few of my best paying clients so that even though I had time to work on finding a new method/way to make more money I had the best paying clients' stream of money coming in. I made somewhere around $5-8 per 500 word article but I was maxing out my time making between $100-$200 a week. Due to school and just life in general I couldn't do this full time writing, so that was another flaw, regardless I had to move on.
And my most recent update is that I started an authority site, which I am going to build
with high-quality content, and SEO for the next few years to come in the hopes that it grows into something big. It has only been around for a few weeks so not much is really up yet, but I am optimistic. At the same time I have been preparing a service that I am hoping to debut here as an exclusive BHW service asap.
Another smart thing I did is I used 100% of my free time to learn, always reading, always testing out new ideas and now I have a very strong grasp on the main things that interested me online including SEO.
My name is Brandon and this is my journey to $2000 a month, with that much income I will be able to purchase my next goal and afford the upkeep for, a motorcycle. If, hopefully when, I reach this point it will be the next step in both my online career and my life in general. Think I can make it?
$2,000 a month in ALIMONY (aka 'all my money') payments 'forced' him to create a radical new online cash making system.
